Alexis Coffee,PharmD is the Academia/ Family Medicine Research Fellow at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Herbert M. and Carol H. Retzky College of Pharmacy. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the UIC Retzky College of Pharmacy and completed a PGY1 community-based residency at Endeavor Health. Her research interests include social determinants of health and their impacts on treatment for substance use disorders, enhancing student preparedness for post-graduate training and the job market, and the impact of community pharmacists on patient access to care. She has presented at both local and national conferences on these interests while also pursuing a Master of Health Professions Education. She now serves on several committees both internally and externally that focus on promoting equity and diverse representation in pharmacy. Alexis is committed to advancing the pharmacy profession through research, education, and mentorship, ensuring that future pharmacists are well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of patient care.
