Tom Achey, PharmD, MS, BCPS, BCSCP, FASHP is an associate professor of clinical sciences and management at Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy at High Point University. A native of Alabama, he received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2014 from Auburn University. Dr. Achey previously completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Froedtert Hospital and a 24-month health-system pharmacy administration residency at Cleveland Clinic. Tom received his Master of Science degree in Health-System Pharmacy Administration in 2017 from Northeast Ohio Medical University. His areas of interest include leadership development, operational excellence through data-driven processes, and health-system practice. Tom currently serves as a preceptor for students and residents in a variety of rotations including academia and innovation & practical applications. He is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, Board Certifiied Sterile Compounding Pharmacist, and past recipient of an ASHP Best Practices Award in Health-System Pharmacy. Within ASHP, Dr. Achey is an active participant within the Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders. Previously, Tom has served within Council on Pharmacy Management, Joint Section/Forum PPMI Coordinating Committee, Innovation Management Advisory Group, Professional Practice Advisory Group, Leadership Development Advisory Group, and Pharmacy Student Forum Executive Committee. He serves in House of Delegates. Tom is an active member of North Carolina Association of Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. He is a reviewer for AJHP.
